Bernhard Garn has been accepted to the IRDR Young Scientist Programme

We are congratulating Bernhard Garn for being accepted to the IRDR’s (Integrated Research on Disaster Risk) Young Scientist Programme. IRDR is cosponsored by the International Science Council (ISC) and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and supported by the China Association of Science and Technology (CAST). The International Programme Office of IRDR (IRDR IPO) is hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Aerospace Information Research Institute (AIR) of CAS. The IRDR strives to foster an inclusive, secure, and sustainable world by advancing our comprehension of disaster risk and the effective use of risk science in decision-making.

The IRDR’s Young Scientist Programme was established to empower emerging professionals and encourage them to pursue innovative and demand-driven research. Its goal is to elevate the synergy between disaster risk reduction research, policy, and real-world implementation. Bernhard will contribute to the IRDR YSP’s objectives with his research activities around applications of discrete mathematics for enhanced disaster preparedness and risk management.
